Happy Teacher's Day!

I remember when I was in grade school and our teacher askedthe class, "how much do you think the President earns per month?"Then, showed us a newspaper with a headline that the President at that timeonly earns about Php300,000 per year. She also asked us, "don't you thinkthe farmers should also earn as much?" And then I thought, they also worklong hours, and farm their lands with their carabao's even when the sun is atits' peak heat. Yes, maybe they should earn as much. No, they should earn morethan what the president gets. That was how I think at grade three.

But now, I know that the President earns more than whathis/her monthly pay slip shows. And the farmers don't get even 10% of thePresident's salary.

That same teacher asked the class what kind of profession wewant. Everyone answered but none of us wanted to be a teacher. Then she askedus, "then who do you think will teach your children?" She told usthat parents want their "more intelligent" children to be doctors,lawyers, or priests but they push their "less intelligent" childrento be the teacher. She let us imagine what kind of education our children willget if this mentality continues. That conversation did not change my mind, andI still don't want to be a teacher but it awakened me to the reality ofeducation in this country.

Today, I am not a teacher but I respect my teachers so much.And I hope that the system of education in this country would improve. Ourteachers, like the President of the State, CEOs of large companies, doctors,and farmers, work for the development of the country. They help shape theinnocent minds, mold the character of the youth, and build up a person. In oneway or another, a part of every one of us is attributed to a certain experiencewith a teacher. They shaped us, influenced us, built us up to what we aretoday.

To my mentors (and to all the teachers out there):

...You taught me not only the things in written in thesyllabus. You taught me all about life. You understood me even when youdisagree with most of my beliefs. For all the teachings and all the things Ilearned from you, THANK YOU!

On Malnutrition and Hunger

Working in an NGO gave me lots of opportunities and one of the best part of this job is being able to help. We are helping directly to the needy population and it feels good to actually see that your work is benefiting the community- Bicol Region on my part.

But with this work and experience, I am also exposed to the real need of the people. I am able to see that there is more that we can do to help them, that they need more, that they deserve to have more. However, I am also aware that development is a complex matter. Hence, helping a person by directly giving him what they need would not really help him in the long run. With this, dole-out system would never work. It only breeds dependence, another problem that must be solved.

Poverty follows a vicious cycle, I was told. But where do we start? Where is the root of the problem? No matter how logical a person may think, no matter how much experience he is able to accumulate, defining the problem- the actual problem, that is- is more complex than we think.

Now, think of malnutrition. Should we blame the parents? Should we blame the local government? Should we blame the environment? the soil? the weather? the NGOs? It is not the right time to blame these people no matter how right we may be that they are causing malnutrition. We have to think deeper- that maybe, they also have reasons why they are acting that way. The parents may not have a choice but to feed their children with rice, only rice, because that is all that they can buy. The mothers may not know how to cook nutritious foods because they are not taught how to. The local government may not have the funds to implement programs. There are possible reasons deeper than what we see and what we can think of.

Malnutrition.

I am just writing to express. I am just writing to organize my thoughts. I would want to help alleviate malnutrition. I would want to. But how?

A New Journey

Every day is a new journey for me. For some, it may be a routine, but for me, every detail in my life is on a constant change. These minute changes may not be visible for some, but after a few days or weeks, when you look you will see that, indeed, life changes little by little.

But through all of these, all that matters would be the lessons that we should learn. Everyday is a chance to live, so live it. Dream like you really are on a good night's dream. And love like you were never hurt! :)

Bet Me

Last Saturday, I started and finished reading the book, Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. At first, I was really pissed because it is a Saturday, I don't have work, but I had nothing to do at home. Blame the brownout, but the day was saved because of that feel-good romantic-comedy novel. :)

I loved the book Bet Me, although parts of the story are already expected to happen. There are interesting twists in the story and the way it was written is wicked that you would not want to put the book down.

From that book I learned that it is just ok to fall in love, and to take risks. Life may have its ups and downs but believing in ever after is never bad as long as you know the risks involved and you are wary of the situation.

So, fall in love! Life is after all series of bets and risks and it still depends on you if you are willing to take risks and win or settle for a less risky deal.

Grab a copy of the book and I bet you will also love it! :)

Moving Forward

Each day, I take baby steps. Slow in pace but I know for sure time will come I can stand, walk and run again. I will get my balance back and I will surely enjoy it when that time comes. Slow process indeed but the outcome is motivating me to take my time to heal the wounds I have caused to myself.

Just like what a friend repeatedly told me- I simply should run and live.

There is no turning back now. There is no reason to lament for a past that never happened, right? Run and live. I give myself the benefit of looking back (I surely will) but only for me to learn from it. This time, I know it is harder. But going through all the hardship is better if it is needed for me to finally put an end to it.

I can do this. Baby steps. One, two, three...

Random Post: Life

With its twists and turns, I can only say, carpe diem!

While I am ranting about everyday mishaps, a brod in my organization is fighting for his life against cancer. This reminds me how lucky I am to have this life and that I should not give up just because of petty problems.

Please keep posted since we are planning to have something to help my brod and his family. But for now, I am asking for everyone's prayers. We still believe that the best way to fight is through hopeful prayers.

Also, be reminded that everything happens for a reason, so we should also do things for a reason. In everything that we do, in every day, make it worth it! Seize each day.

Eat, Pray, Love

I am only half way through the book "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. I can only spare a few minutes each each day to read a chapter or two. That's why I'm still not finished reading the book. Although I can also rush during weekends, I choose not to. I love the book and I try to understand each line I'm reading.

For now, one of my favorite is the part is the conversation between Elizabeth and Richard...

"But I love him."

"So love him."

"But I miss him."

"So miss him. Send him some love and light every time you think about him, and then drop it. You're just afraid to let go of the last bits of David because you'll really be alone."

I can relate. much. There are more striking lines in the book and I will share them this coming week. Now, I have to read on and not forget to bookmark my favorite lines. ;)

In three weeks, I will be a year in a half in my work. Now, I am thinking of what they say that you have to stay in your job for two years so that you will be able to make a difference... I think I am not going to that direction- not a bit. The aspect of staying for another 6 months in the same environment is no longer appealing to me and the thing about "making a change" is not something I think I will want to do given my current sentiments about work and everything related to it. I am just not up to "making a change" for something that does not interest me anymore.

This is something that bothers me a lot. But I will still have to think about it. Think about it hard enough to avoid future problems or regrets.

I just want to do something that I love. Something that would make me want to wake up and travel to work. And to REALLY do work. *sigh*

Bought a new book, a new perspective

I'm having more time for myself the past few days. This also means more time to read books, more time to sleep, more time to do extra work, more time for my family! Weee... I so love time for myself! :)

Yesterday, I bought another book in booksale. It's Human Behaviour and Social Environment. Working in an NGO is not new to me. Being a development communicator, I can say I am equipped with knowledge on how to work with the community. But we all know that what we learn from school is not enough. Hence, here I am, studying once again, through books and through experience. Soon, I will be back to the academe to formalize this learning process. I just hope everything will be fine so that I can really pursue my study. :)

It's Sunday but I will be working. I'm not complaining because I love what I'm doing. Besides, I have to finish my task so that I can already start reading the book I bought and the other stacks in my bedside table. haha!

Love the one you're with

Today, I finished reading Emily Giffin's Love the One You're With. I love the book especially the last chapters because of the twists and turns of the story.

Judging from the title, you would know what the story is all about- about the past love (a.k.a. the one who got away, the true love, the intense relationship, the unforgotten relationship that no one can ever replace) and the current love (a.k.a. partner of a lifetime, the one who stays no matter what happens, the sweet one who promises that you will never be alone).

I was amazed at different scenes in the story but here are the scenes and some phrases/ sentences that struck me so much.

*There was a time when Ellen decided to leave their house for a work with Leo (his ex) even if Andy already left a note saying: IF YOU GO, DON'T COME BACK. She left but she thought of Andy still and wanted to come back after the shoot with Leo. (This is the first on my list, by the way.)

--My point is that it is ok with me for a girl to follow her heart even if she is married. But if you are making a decision, make sure that you will also accept every consequence of such an action. With Ellen, she did left, but still wanted to come back. I thought she should have never left if she is not yet ready to leave Andy and the sweet life they shared. If I were her, and if I choose Leo, this means that he is indeed more important than the present love I have. Or the present love I have is not enough for me to stay. If I stay with Andy, this means that there will be NO Leo. Not a phone call or email will go between us. If you have a choice, then choose. Never choose one and long for the other.

*"Love, not as a surge of passion, but as a choice to commit to something, someone, no matter what obstacles or temptations stand in the way. And maybe making that choice, again and again, day in and day out, year after year, says more about love than never having a choice to make at all."

--I simply love this. ADORE these lines.

*"Sometimes there are no happy endings. No matter what, I'll be losing something, someone."

--I am a NOT fan of HAPPY ENDINGS. I want the reality. There are no real happy endings because someone will always be hurt. When you love, or be loved back, there will be that someone hurt in the process. It might be YOU or the other person, or someone hidden in the scene.

*"To write it in my journal would elevate its importance, something I was determined not to do."

--Maybe it was a good thing I lost most of my journals. This time, I will no longer see myself awake at 2 in the morning reading my own words, for that someone who got away, who left me bruised inside.

*Communication is important. That is something that makes relationship work. If you no longer communicate freely, then there is a bigger issue that you have to deal with.

There are even more lines and scenes that amazed me. But I will now stop writing. Just read the book, OK? Or let's have coffee one time and discuss. :)

**By the way, I've been searching for this book in NBS for a year already. Maybe it was fate that I saw it in BOOKSALE at Php125 only, hardbound. :)

This is for you, my dear friend.

There may be things that happened to you, changes that were unexpected, and life changing, world rattling events that came your way. As a friend, I know I was not there when you needed someone to talk to. Personally, I know I should have done more. But when I learned what happened, I kept my distance. Not because I thought of what happened as something bad, but I just waited for you to approach us- to accept and need us once again. We, your friends, are always ready to help you. Aside from your family, we are also the constant in your life- or at least, we want to be. So, don't fret too much. You have a shoulder to cry on, to lean on, to depend on. That is for sure. If we were not there during the times that you need us, it is not because we were not there for you, but we think that you did not need us then. During those moments, it would be better for you and your family to handle it.

Now that things are better, we are back. When you need us, we will be there. We just need you you to say it. We are more than willing to be with you but we also want to hear it from you.

I am proud of you. You were wrong to think that you are weak. My dear, you are very strong to keep your principles firmly rooted. Facing all of the criticisms from other people is hard especially when you know for yourself that you are better than what they claim. I understand you and believe in you. So, keep your head up. You know your worth. Smile. :)

When all people think ill of you, smile at them and show them that you are strong and happy with what is going on. This will be the best way to answer their ill thoughts and words.

I am happy for you because you have learned your lessons, and I learned my lessons through you. I may never say it in person, but I will tell you my story soon. We have more things in common than the stories we shared before and in time, we will talk about it in open.

Now, remember that you are strong and there are people around you who love you so much. Sometimes, they just need to hear that you need them before they lend a hand.

Keep fighting. We are here for you. :) By the way, we miss you.

I came across a website today and it reminded me of my first love.

The site was about a photographer in Dallas and in that site I saw his works. How I wish I live in Dallas so that I can contact him and set an appointment. :D I still think that with this Dallas photographer, the price that you will pay would be worth it. I know that if you are searching for photographers, one of the considerations would be the price that you will have to pay. It is important that you get the kind of pictures that you want without spending more than what is necessary. After browsing the site, I am once again in love.

I'm in love- with pictures. I love taking pictures, browsing for photos taken by professional and amateur photographers. The way photos capture a certain time amuses me. This may be the reason why I love taking pictures of inanimate things, children, sunset, candles and sceneries.

A lot happened already... Time flies... Good thing lessons are learned. ;) So, this was me. I still have my bangs, wear the same smile, eye bags are (sadly) still there also. But I don't wear the earrings anymore. You see, I'm still me. Just a little wiser, a little better, a lot happier. BUT I'm still the same in a lot of ways. :D

Of Love Stories and Breakups

Whenever I read or hear a love story, it makes my heart melt. It makes me happy, even if I know that story is not mine. Thinking that my story is not a bit near those love stories I read, I am nonetheless happy knowing that at least, for some, be it real or imaginary, their love story had a happy ending. Even with the countless twists and turns, in the end, two people end up together. And yes, they lived happily ever after.

As a child, I loved fairy tales. This may be the reason why I always wanted by story to be as perfect as they were in these tales. But after years of facing love, or what seemed to be love, I learned that happy endings are far from my reach. I came across love a lot of times. I faced witches (bitches) and the like. In the end, they cause the stories to end no matter how I tried to avoid them. In the end, they always win. I thought, this is not the case with love stories i read, but why in the world did it have to happen to me?

I even met Prince Charming and frogs through the stories of my life. It is easy to find frogs and Prince Charming's are just around the corner. But even my once Prince Charming changed into a frog, toad or beast in the end. Men easily come and eventually go. When things seem to be hard, they change, or maybe, I did.

It is hard- very.

But as they say, in the right time, a Prince will come and he will never leave. He will not turn into a frog and bitches will no longer have the power to ruin my story. I'm just waiting for that to happen. I am waiting for my own love story to start and put an end to my nightmares.

Random thoughts on a Sunday afternoon

Happiness and contentment- two things I am willing to exchange everything for. But these two things seem to prove its value by making me work harder to get it. I am just wondering if I will ever get it. I hope so... I am also willing to continue working hard for happiness and contentment.

Love? What is it? What is in it? Why is it too difficult to maintain and contain? Why is it so hard to keep relationships without much sacrifices? Can't it be simple? Can't it be less of a trouble?

Success? I don't care much about you but people around me are trying to impose you on my future. What if I don't really want you? What if their concept of success is much different than what I want? How can I reconcile such? How can I make ends meet?

One day, I will have answers to these questions and this post will remind me how young I was when I wrote this. Someday, I will be able to tell myself, I've grown and learned.

2009. A Summary

2009... marked CHANGE in me.

January- A roller coaster ride with myself. Expectations and disappointments rained and drained the whole of me. I was uncertain with my decisions and things became so vague but I know for sure that I want something more than what I currently have.

February- Elbi. My home. My love. I went back once again and regained friends. I am so missing Los Banos. Love. The shortest month of the year but I made a way to make it special. Things were going great. Problems subsided. I never thought about the difference between serenity and calm just before a storm.

March- My birth month made me realize a lot of things. This is where I learned to really give importance to myself and to what I deserve. An event made a big impact to what I am now. An event that made me strong. An event that I still hold on to, think of, and remember when I am about to crumble on my knees.

April- I started working. After the realization in March, it was a good thing to have work. Change in environment really helped me move on, formally. Losing a relative is hard. Memories will never be erased and they are the only thing that keeps me going. What happened to us also showed who are there to comfort when you are at loss.

May- I am deeply in love with my work by this time. I enjoy the things that we do and the cause that we share. Learning more, experiencing life's greatest treasures, meeting other people and sharing beliefs are the aspects of my work that I will never trade for anything.

June- Maybe this month was no roller coaster, but it was indeed bumpy. Sometimes, you have to make decisions that you are not sure of. There are times that it will haunt you. There are times that you have to make great efforts to run away from these memories but sometimes, you just can't let go.

July- I was too scared to document all of what happened to me and all of what I felt. It was just so sad and the emotions are too strong for my words. But in July, I chose to be happy.

August- I lost but I also gained. I learned from the past and proved to make things better. I do what makes me happy. Gain more friends. Work well. Enjoy what life is all about.

September- Remembering the past once again. But we lost. and I know that what I have now is something that I should cherish. No matter how ideal the past is, the present is always real. It is still better than ideal.

October- I got permanent in my job! woot! celebrate! Things were getting better for me this month. I so love my October.

November- I made peace with some people I was not so comfortable with before. I still don't want to burn bridges with the people who were so important for me in the past. This month, I am starting to improve what I am. Noting important learnings from other people and reading more books for self improvement.

December- Wraps up 2009. Lost. Learned. Gained. When December comes, it is all about reunions, family and friends. They simply remind me of what I have no matter what I have lost in the past. I so love them and will continue doing so.

2009 was a great year. I learned a lot and tomorrow, the start of 2010, i promise to do better. Life gets a little serious now. Life continues for me. I might have lost a lot but I sure will do better. I promise to improve on myself and make better decisions now. 2010. I am so excited for a better ME! :)

During Fridays, you will always hear me say, TGIF. Indeed. I thank God for having Fridays because this only means that the week has passed and rest days are about to come. At least two days of rest out of the five days of work isn't that bad. I can say this now that I know how to maximize the two days of no work.

Now, weekend is about to end and I have to face a whole week's load of work again... I'm just wishing that Monday's would not be so bad and Friday would come soon. I so love weekends. It makes me miss someone. But during the weekdays, it helps me to be alone for a while, think of my own, take care of myself, and enjoy whatever I have.

I'm posting this because... I hope Friday would come fast. It would be Nadine's birthday on Saturday so it makes me more excited. :)

nakakamiss mag blog. nakakamiss magsulat. nakakamiss matulog ng madaling araw at gigising para magsulat ulit. walang pakialam sa suot na damit, walang nararamadamang gutom. nakakamiss ang "laidback" na buhay. walang boss, walang time-in, walang oras na kelangan sundin. nasayo na kung palpak ka, nasayo na din kung magpapakabait at bibo ka.

pag weekends, pag walang Saturday work, dun nagsisink-in ang lahat- lahat na meron ako noon, at kung anu ang meron ako ngayon. ayokong isipin ang mga bagay na nawala, kasi alam ko na meron naman papalit diba? weekend. dalawang araw para magpahinga. pero hindi pa rin maalis sa isip ko na bukas, Lunes na naman. balik trabaho, balik sa dating buhay. BUSY kunwari. sa dami ng dapat gawin, e makakalimutan ko saglit ang mga bagay bagay na bumabagabag sa mga gabi ko. limang araw ulit na trabaho, naghihintay sa 430pm ng Friday, para makaalis at masabing tapos na naman ang linggo.

Tatlong bwan pa lang akong ganto. Masaya. Totoo, masaya ako kung anong meron ako ngayon. Pero hindi pa din naman maalis saakin ang isipin ang dating buhay. Nakakamiss. At siguro, pag ok na ako sa mga achievements ko, ay babalik ako sa laidback na buhay. simpleng buhay. simpleng manunulat na walang ibang gawin kundi isulat ang pumapasok sa isip. Hindi man ganun kagaling tulad ng iba, walang pakialam basta alam nya na meron naman syang konting alam at meron din naman ibubuga. ;)

Konting trabaho pa. Dumadaan daw dito ang lahat. Tuloy lang sa paghahanap ng fulfillment na kelangan sa buhay para tuluyang matahimik ang kalooban at isip. May mararating din naman sa tamang panahon. Tyaga muna. :) Panahon nga lang ata ang kalaban ko sa ngayon.

Suddenly, I'm scared to write.

Scared for I might say the things that I'm not supposed to. Scared that someone might be reading this and he or she is not supposed to. Or maybe, it has been too long when I felt this, experienced this, that I'm not sure how to compose myself and act properly on these kind of situations.

"Grace under pressure." You will learn this in college. But how can I apply this in real life? I'm not sure... How can i act, move, speak, or influence if I know that there is something bothering me. When everything is moving as planned, when I thought everything is in it's proper place, something gets disarrayed. Now, I'm out of focus, and the plans seem to be vague.

But even with these things at hand, there are some pieces that seem to improve. The people who stayed prove that nothing will change. Not time, distance, or death will ever change what you have. These people are what you commonly call friends and family.

For those who left, well, thank you for the time spent and the memories that will be treasured. Even how painful goodbye is, you know that you can't erase memories, you can't change what happened. But you can be happy in the long run. This is where we move on. Yes, it might be a difficult job to replace someone important, someone who already marked your life, your heart. But, you can always treasure the lessons and learn from the mistakes. Now, more than ever, you should know how to take care of someone, how to show your appreciation, and importance. If you care, love, or whatever you might feel for another, show it. This might be the only time you have to do so. Regrets are the most painful things you will ever feel. Especially when you knew that things would have been different, IF ONLY you acted differently.

And for the people who becomes a new part of my life, let us see how things would go. Uncertainties, problems, difficulties are given scenarios. But we can always prove that we know better now, and we can make this through- together. :)

So life continues.

so it has been a while since my last detailed post. and up to this very moment I am not sure if I can make this post as details as it is supposed to be. A lot of things happened and by a lot, I mean a truckload of events. From the day that I started working fulltime, there are lots of changes. You can start with my sleeping pattern. I have a difficult time waking up at 530 in the morning and keeping up 'till the end of the shift. by the way, I work from 730am to 430pm. But there are times that I have to work up to 6pm when there are important tasks to be completed.

I am enjoying my work because of various things. For one, I enjoy what I do. This is one of the things that I enjoy, "helping others" by doing the things that I am confident at. I promised that for my first work, I should ensure that it is related to DevCom. I have studied for four years and I aim to work and apply what I have learned- just right for my current work. Project monitoring and evaluation is a tedious job but when you get to understand the why's and how's of the work, you can work with a clearer perspective and enjoy it in the long run. :)

On the 13th, I will be celebrating my first month at work. :) It is true that time flies when you are enjoying the moment. I get to stay at the office and work outside when it is needed. I get to meet more people and appreciate their devotion and passion with their work. I get to appreciate the "lazy time" that I had because now, every minute counts. I get to appreciate the whole essence of working because I know that it is difficult but I also know that I can make this a good experience for me.

There are also moments of enjoyment when working. The people at the office are reliable for that. "Friendly" may not be the sufficient word to describe them. They simply are themselves and their dedication to help shines through them. That is why I love waking up early and working. The people whom I work with- my officemates, and the people I work for- the community, are the reasons why I am continuing what I am doing. It is easy for me to quit, but I will not, not now and not in the near future.

Three weeks after my birthday and here I am on my second day at work. :) I can't spill every detail about it, at least, not yet. But one thing's for sure, this is one of the jobs that I want.

it was my birthday right?! i have the right and the reason to be happy. :)

i was with Jeb and Twinkle during the 18th of March. We waited until 12 midnight and celebrated my 21st year.. thank you.. :) no pictures. I didn't bring my camera because it was a spontaneous celebration. :)

the next day, I went out with Dad, Ate Day and Bebe. We ate at Max's and it was my treat. yey!

We went to "tribu" restaurant (Naga City) and proceeded to CWC (Pili, Camarines Sur).

this is late, sorry.. :)

i turned 21 last March 19. :) yey!

Let me say that this will be the mark for me to think straight. A lot of things happened and most of them are realizations.

It made me realize who my real friends are. No elaboration needed. You know who you are and I love you. :) Also, it made me think of the memories I had in the past and the things I want for my future. It would be nice to keep the people you love in the past and be with them up to the day of your last breath. But this is not always the situation. There are times that you get to move on. This is what growing up is about. You learn from your past and apply the lessons with your present so that your future will be better.

Mistakes are mis-takes. Wrong. and they should be part of your past. I cannot hold on any longer to the people and memories that once made me happy. I cannot hold on to the relationships that once molded me. I can no longer be at peace with the people who continue hurt me. I have been trying to be nice and proper for the past years of my life. Some may disagree, I know. Either you know me too well or you don't know anything about who I am and what I have been.

It is wrong to judge. It is wrong to break promises. But sometimes, some people are naturally heartbreakers, deal breakers, promise-breakers, or simply put, a JERK. haha! But these people should not be the center of your life. You can always think of them and learn from them. But they are also part of your memories. They molded you, so thank them for that. Also, in the future, you get to realize that if that Jerk did not fuck up, maybe you are not "this happy" in your present. Think of that. Be reminded.

As my friend told me, you have your own beliefs. You cannot expect others to believe that way. Yes, thank you for those words. They are the truth and they hurt me big time. But I understand what you are trying to tell me. I understand that there are some people who think deeper than I do and there are also some who are too shallow for me. We have different beliefs, we think differently. So you cannot also say those words to me without hurting my ideals. I only hoped that others will be a little more sensitive than they are. I am only hoping for some people to think of what I might be feeling. I am not trying to please every person I meet. I am only trying to avoid hurting anyone. But there are times that it is I who get hurt. Now, tell me if that is wrong. Tell me if I am the bad person in our situation.

"To each his own" will be my mantra for now. I will try to care less of others. This time, it will be about ME. MY happiness. MY wants. MY life.

One of the highlights of my birthday would be my family and my friends. :) I may not say this much, but I hope you know how much I love you. :) Thank you for being there, for simply being with me, in thoughts or physically, in the past, during my birthday, in the days after my birthday, or in the future.

random thoughts lang po.. d ako nag aamok ng away. haha. pero pwede mag react, pwede din deadma. after more than one week simula naipalabas ang MMK "blusa" episode, nagkalat pa rin ang blogs about it. madami din nag rereact. dami na nakapagmura dahil dun.hindi naman ako makapagreact kasi d ko naman napanood.pro dhil sa dami na ng blogs and comments,paiba iba na ang issue.

sayang. kasi trusted, respected, longtime running show ang MMK with a network president as the host. bigatin at sikat.tapos magkakamali ng facts. sige, drama anthology nga.hindi daw documentary.pero kaya tinatangkilik ang show ay dahil sa letter senders at dahil true to life db? pero bakit ganun? nakakasira ng isang institution ang pagkakasulat ng kwento.

UP grad at SCL pa. pero panu kaya kung ibang school graduate yun? pero SCL pa din? anu naman ang reaction ng mga tao? anu ang subliminal message?

OA daw mag react ang mga taga UPLB... hindi naman ata. marunong lang kami pumuna ng mga mali sa lipunan.

in thirteen days, I will be older.
I only planned my life up to my 19th year. After that year, everything is a new adventure. I'm going to unplanned places but what is important is that I am learning. But now, I'm reaching another stage, another birthday, another reminder that I should really be getting older, wiser, and better. I hope I am.

I wish for...

happiness
direction
health
strength
contentment

These are the important things for me. This time, I don't ask for people or material things.

All that I want in this stage of my life is love. Love from the people I also love.
I also ask for happiness. A true kind of happiness.
I want direction. My life is continuous and I would want to live it well. I offer it to Him now and I wish that we will guide me.
I ask for health, for me, for my family and for the other people I cherish.
I aim to have more strength. Strength to live the life I choose to have and strength to face the challenges that are about to unfold.
Lastly, I ask for contentment. Contentment so that I can appreciate the things that I have, and be contented with what I don't.

Yey! I am getting older! For now, I have to make the best out of the remaining days of my 20th year.

Today, I decided that my laptop will have a name. Although I already gave him a name before, I had to think of a new one (I forgot the old name :p). At first, I searched for possible names that has the meaning "black". And the names "Jett", and "Jet" were the instant results. Although it would fit my laptop because Jet means a black gemstone. Just like my laptop it is precious and black but due to reasons I would not want to mention (haha), I prefer not to use those names for my ever useful and dependable baby (laptop).

Anyway, I decided that he will be called Nigel. Based from my research, it is associated with "black". Although it does not have direct translation or meaning, I like that name. There was also a character in W.I.T.C.H. that has a name Nigel. (Witch is a comic series from Summit, while my sis collects Candy and Seventeen, I collect Witch in high school)

So, the laptop bag I ordered in an online store in multiply arrived today and I love it. :) Here are some pics.

I miss you so much. i enjoyed my stay in elbi and manila last week because of you. I miss elbi because of the moments we shared. After a whole day's work, it is nice to relax and spend time for myself. I always do this because I think I also deserve to be pampered and besides, my mind also need some time off. One of my favorite things to do would be to shop. :) Even if a little dress or a ponytail would make me happy. As long as I bought something from the mall, then I am ok with that.

While surfing the Internet, again, I visited the article from New York Times. I already mentioned that before but that article was really interesting with all the tips that are included in it. Also, did I mentioned anything about Zenni Optical in the New York Times?!

And with that article, i visited the site of Zenni. I really want to shop in that store specially because of their promo Prescription eyeglasses for only $8! Now, who would not want that? I browse through their site and checked some of the designs. Here's what I found:
I love nerdy but stylish glasses and this one would be my favorite. Now i really appreciate the article in New York Times entitled Seeing Straight Without Breaking Bank. Aside from seeing straight, you are not wasting your money and you also keep the style.

Now, I'm off to the mall and hope to find a nice pair of glasses such as the one above. :)

A quote that can be used in different instances. A quote that reminds me once again that I have to serve a purpose in this life.

But this quote does not solve the dilemma I currently have. I cannot continue wanting something if the things I have today contradicts to what I want to achieve. The situations asks for me to choose but I don't want to make any decision yet.

If I will pursue my wants, I will lose my present. If i hold on to the present, will I be happy and willing to let go of the things I want?

Useful and fashionable pair of eyes

Aside from writing, my day would not end without reading. I love to read even simple essays or short stories of other people. I always have a book beside my bed so that I can easily get it before I get to sleep. With this hobby, I'm wondering if my eyesight is still 20/20.
I'm in front of the computer screen almost the whole day and I read even when I lying on my bed. This only shows that I am using my eyes too often. Now I'm thinking if I already need a pair of reading glasses since there are times that my head and eyes hurt after a whole day's work.
Browsing through the Internet, I came across this article in New York Times. It talks about some helpful tips in buying eye glasses and it mentioned about the Zenni Optical. As I checked the site, I was amazed with the wide choices of eyeglasses. Some stuff caught my attention and there are really a lot of choices available.
These are the pair of glasses that really caught my attention because of the simple yet chic look of the frames. Also, I think I can wear this at home or even outside. It looks so comfortable to wear.

Even if i have a good pair of eyes at the moment and they are not failing me yet, I would still love to buy this. They look really comfortable and fashionable at the same time. Now that is important in buying your glasses. Know if it is good to look at and if it is comfortable to wear.

I think I'll be writing more about love for the whole month of February. :) There are just too many things entering my mind that concerns the topic. Maybe because I miss my friends who bombard me before about issues on love. I miss those talks. I admit some of them are totally stupid but most of these memories are treasured until now because these talks are the truest that we shared.

Love, as I witnessed myself and through the eyes of the people I know, is a force that made a person act selfish and selfless at the same time. The way that you view the situation will affect how you will approve or disapprove of your own actions. As for me, I felt selfish while others think that my actions are manifestations of selflessness. This is what I realize now. But I never understood this when I was in that height of "love" (or the thought of it).

A person loves because that is what he or she feels. I cannot think of other reason that can justify the act of loving but the actual act in itself. Now, when it comes to letting go, this is the part where you recognize the love, accept it, but you have to think of reality, practicality, and maybe, other people who are also involved in your situation. This is where you think, and this is where a person normally acts stupid.

I don't know why I'm saying this now and I don't know if you should believe me. But this time, one thing's for sure... I don't want to think and I am not letting go. :)

You will have to render some service and this is done by making a buzz or a review of the advertising company. Hence, you get paid to blog and you are still able to enjoy your passion to write.

I was not supposed to blog but when I read about a plurk from Paulo Coelho, I decided that I need to stop writing about weight loss, autism, mortgage, and other topics that I am not really interested in.

May I quote Coelho,

"The wise are wise only because they love. The foolish are foolish only because they think they can understand love."

This made me think; hence, I'm foolish.

I over analyze things. Every word uttered and action done always mean something for me. That is the reason why I always feel uncomfortable and now, not contented with the situation I am in. When I say something, I mean it. There are subliminal thoughts in it that you should try to understand. Well, I forgot, that is just me. People are different and I should stop thinking too much.

I thought I know what love is. But in fact, I don't. I can't even say that I love (or loved) a person or not. I am foolish for thinking but still not getting an answer to my own questions.

Maybe this will be answered... in time... when I am no longer seeking for an answer and the question would no longer matter to me.

This February air is so creeping me out. <_<

New Book and Holodomor

I bought a new book, World Facts, general editor: Dr. James Mackay. I love educational books but I prefer ones with illustrations so this one really caught my eye. I got interested in the book because a man in his late 40's or early 50's was holding the book and he was chatting with his friend about how interesting the book is. I also got interested and waited until they leave the bookstore so that I can also have a glimpse of the book. Fortunately they didn't buy the orange covered book. :) so I had my chance to browse through. World facts interest me and there are so many things to learn.

Even after graduation, I constantly buy books to enrich my knowledge. There are just too many amusing things that happened in this world. I never liked history in high school or college but I see its importance now. If only I'm this interested in the world, maybe I would have enjoyed it earlier.

This interest in me is growing more and more. It even brought me to learn more about holodomor. This is a Ukrainian word for "FAMINE-GENOCIDE". You can try searching the Internet for additional information about the event in Ukraine and maybe you can also help yourself in learning more about what happened in the past as this may affect our "today".
